In 2012 I had the unfortunate loss of both of my parents. Without knowing anything about funerals, Kevin and his staff went out of their way to help me get through this unfortunate time. Kevin took the time and patience explaining the entire process from start to finish. I cannot thank them enough having gone through the passing of my mother in January and father in November. This funeral home along with the staff are excellent and would highly recommend them. I may not have my parents but through the help of Kevin i know have a friend and I will always treasure that.

- Lori Naugle-Norris (Moosic)

When I asked you (Kevin) for guidance in planning my mother's final resting, my sorrow gave way to a feeling of comfort and peace, knowing that I had made the right choice for her and me. Your thoughtfulness, generosity, caring concern for detail and accessibility gave me the needed reassurance that I sought in disparity. You and Tim have a special gift to understand the depth of human sorrow. Few are born with this type of heart and soul. How lucky for me to know you and Tim.

- Judy Conniff (Old Forge)

Dear Kevin and Staff,
Our words can not begin to express how thankful we are to all of you for making a very difficult time tolerable. Your thoughtfulness, caring and support was a comfort to us all. Thank god for special people like you.

- Marge Gallagher (Old Forge)

Kevin Jr.,
It was an absolute pleasure dealing with you regarding the arrangements for my dear aunt Mary. You made a very difficult task much easier. You have a tremendous ability to understand the concerns of who you are working with. That is a gift.
Your guidance early on during the preliminary planning created a trust in you which means a lot to me.
You absolutely bridged the age gap between us, middle age – next generation in everything you did. Your communication skills, and knowing when to call vs when to email or text are another gift. Your presence in person when Maggie and I finalized the details with you on Monday, just exemplified everything else. Although Mary and I were a little skeptical about the video, it was also a class addition to the total arrangement.
As a businessman, I am skeptical about insurance plans by nature, but realize they are sometimes a good planning tool. Tim also developed my trust, and is a great part of your team. I really appreciate everything you both helped us with there.
From day one, I told you Mary was interested in class and not flash. You are definitely a class person, and everything was exactly what we were trying to achieve in honoring Mary’s wishes, and my expectations. In a world accepting mediocrity, it is reassuring to deal with a professional that still cares.
On behalf of the entire family, I want to thank you and your entire staff in making Mary’s next chapter in the circle of life perfect.

- John Husosky (Scranton)

I will never forget the compassion you and your dad showed me when my dad passed away. I don't have a husband or children. It could have been a very lonely time for me but you put a smile on my face every time we met. And what a beautiful and dignified tribute my dad had thanks to you. You are a beacon of light to those who are in need!

- Ann Marie Dippre (New York City)

Thank you so much for everything Kevin, you are an amazing soul and anybody is lucky to have you in their lives, let alone work with you.

- Lindsey Nicole Tutino (Scranton)

Words cannot express how appreciative we are to Kevin Kearney for all he did to make this difficult time such a special tribute to our grandmother. And just when we thought the tribute was over, he had a plane fly over the cemetery with a last message for our grama. A very fitting send off for a pilot... Rest in peace and may you fly high Grama V!

- JoAnn Fumanti Pepsin (Old Forge)

Dear Kevin and Staff,
I would like to express my deepest heartfelt gratitude to you and your staff. How do I begin to thank you for being so professional, gracious, caring and considerate of our every need during the loss of my beloved mother? Your attention to EVERY detail from floral arrangements to getting death certificates to monument engraving is unsurpassed by anyone. I had absolutely no worries with your funeral home at the helm. You were on top of everything so I could focus on what was most important - mourning my most precious mother.

- Janice Hughes (Pittston)

To Kevin,
We would like to thank you for your compassionate, professional services recently. Your guidance at such a difficult time was most appreciated. It is comforting to know that you are there when needed, ready to help people navigate their way through the necessary steps required without any pressure. It was helpful that everything you stated was up front and there were no surprises when the time came to settle the account . We will always remember our Memorial service and how special it was, and that you were a big part of the day.

-Anthony LaRusso (Moosic)

I can't say enough about the treatment we received from the Kearney Funeral Home. Kevin and his staff could not have been more accommodating. They treated us with the utmost respect and kindness during such a difficult time. Kevin went out of his way to come to my home to make most of the plans. Kevin and his staff helped plan my father's (Eugene Lavelle) AND my mother's (Marjorie Lavelle) funerals. My sister, brothers and I could not have been more happier with the services they provided.

I have one other example as to why I would recommend you to others. Prior to my mother's death, I brought her to the viewing of a friend of hers (June Mclaughlin). I parked the car across the street from the funeral home and we crossed the busy street to the entrance. Upon leaving the Funeral Home, Kevin was at the door and he offered, then took my keys and went and brought my car around so it was right in front of his entrance. This allowed me to get my mother into the car safely and not have to cross that busy street again. I have never forgotten that and truly appreciated his kindness. He did not ask one of his employees to do it, HE DID IT HIMSELF. That has left a lasting impression on me.

- Christine Lavelle (Scranton)

The recent loss of our father, Joseph Darlak, left mom and us saddened on a deep, visceral level. We managed, however, to move forward with the inevitable, and called funeral director, Kevin Kearney, Jr. who promptly arrived bringing comfort, compassion and outstanding professional expertise. Kevin's professionalism and genuine warmth left us feeling that dad would leave the world with the dignity and grace that he deserved. Thank you Kevin Jr., Kevin, Sr., and the entire Kearney Funeral Home team for making this happen and for helping us through the most difficult time of our lives.

Marianne Darlak (New York, New York); and Helene Moore (Chicago, Illinois)

My name is Wayne R. Fenton and we used the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home facility and planning in the very difficult time of my fathers passing Ira J Fenton in January of 2013. Our experience with their services from the time we prearranged our family's funeral to the actual time of service, their facility operated in a most professional and caring manner from every detail big or small. The personal attention gave to the family at this very difficult time included a visit to our home from Kevin Jr. who is continuing in the values and morals set by Kevin Sr to go over the details of the funeral and viewing. I literally did not have to do anything but grieve which was a big relief and having the funeral prearranged was wonderful and we were given the opportunity to change things because the facility recognizes all the thought from cost to comfort.

The limo service was excellent and so necessary as we literally did not have to worry about driving anywhere from start to finish - really top rate service - if it is in your budget go for it.

The viewing hours where accommodated and the immediate family was given personal time before and after. My father looked great he looked peaceful. They truly did a remarkable job.

The Kearney Funeral Home is in my opinion in a class by themselves. I really recommend using this facility in your time of need. Every detail was address and performed. I am very grateful to the Kearney Funeral Home Family and know when I need them again, they will be there.

- Wayne Fenton (Scranton)

My mom battled Alzheimer's Dementia for several years. Kearney Funeral Home has been a tradition in my family and when it came time to prepare burial arrangements, my family scheduled an appointment at Kearney's. The staff guided me through the process and when my mother passed away, all I had to do was call and I knew things would be prepared the way she wanted them. She now lived in another state and I worried about how things would work. One phone call to Kevin in the evening and I was instructed as to what I had to do on my end. Which was very little. From that time until the church service everything was very smooth. Kevin and the staff were very patient and willing to address any question from our family. You are never really prepared for the loss of a loved one. It was truly a huge weight off my shoulders knowing that the staff had everything with us in mind. Thank-you for making my mothers day beautiful and stress free.

- Cathy Ferraro (Salisbury, Maryland)

Everyone at Kearney Funeral Home was very kind and genuine and that is exactly what my family needed at this time. They have also been helpful and patient. At a time when our world was turned upside down, it was nice to not have to worry because Kevin handled all details beautifully. My Dad would have loved the service and respected the entire staff for the compassion and respect we were shown. I thank them so much.

- Shannon Gavigan (Pittston)

We are very happy with Kearney funeral home. Kevin was most accommodating and a pleasure to deal with during a difficult time of grieving. Our family has used Kearney's three times since 1994 and have been very satisfied with their excellent and personable service.

- Peter and Sally Yablonsky (Apalachin, New York)

Where do you begins to tell the story of my relationship with the Kearney Funeral Homes? From our first real loss as a family, our father Ralph J. Reviello Jr., to the toughest loss, our Candy Reviello, then Grandma, Grandpa, etc., Kevin played a part as a family member would. To my aunts, uncles and even extended family who have used the Kearney family’s services, Kevin Sr. and his wife Jemille are considered family - feeling our pain while comforting us. In a time where a family is lost, the Kearney Funeral Homes guides them along the way through the most difficult times of their lives. They truly made a time of need, a time of comfort. Words can not express our gratitude for their caring and comfort ways. Kearney’s, a family business that has seen three generation in my family, handled by three generation in their family – I know that they will always be there for us.

- Ralph Reviello (Old Forge)

I can't say enough about Kearney Funeral home. At a difficult time in my life, the death of my mother, Kevin "took the reigns" and made it a wonderful experience. I had no worries, as he took care of every little detail making it a very easy transition. He continuously followed up with me to make sure I was doing well, and if there was anything else he could do. I would highly recommend Kearney Funeral Home to friends, family, or others.

...my most felt gratitude.

Thanks to you and everybody on your team, and as I noted in my voicemail, you folks are true professionals in every way. Thanks especially for your attention to detail in our hour of need, and be proud of the ministry you perform through all your efforts.

Thank you again for everything.

It is such a comfort to be taken care of the way you had taken care of us. Your family's compassion for my family over the years is overwhelming. With deep gratitude we appreciate your caring for us - as family.

- Mary Loscombe (Scranton)

Saying thank you doesn't seem enough thank you! You have gone above and beyond our expectations with your services.

Kevin, Tim and Jack,

I am at a loss for words which in my case is very rare. I hope the verse on the opposite side of this card expresses my thanks and gratitude for my mom's funeral arrangements. Thank you to all three of you.

- Barbara Simms (Florida, New York)

Thank you. Thank you so much for the gift. It really helped me to understand what me and my family are going through and I know in time we'll all heal. God bless you.

- Aida Russo (Lake Ariel)

You're wonderful to deal with during a very difficult time.

- Melissa Luizza (Old Forge)

Dear Kevin,

Thank you from my family for the caring of my brother. You have helped me a great deal with everything from start to finish. There are not many that would do what you have done on a promise of word and as a caregiver in the medical field you have given me hope that there are truly people out there that have a heart of gold. Thank you again.

- Maryann Seagren (Orlando, Florida)

Kevin and family,

Thank you for your kind mass card and help during this difficult time. You're like family to us.
