Obituary

Edward W. Dippre, age 56, of Tunkhannock, died Sunday evening at home. He is survived by his beloved companion of 12 years, Gail Leyshon. Born in Scranton on May 20, 1957, son of the late Edward V. and Dorothy Jane Supp Dippre, Edward was a graduate of North Pocono High School, Class of 1973. He then served in the Army National Reserves. Prior to becoming ill, he worked as an automotive part salesman for Cee Kay Auto in Moosic for 33 years. A member of Elm Park United Methodist Church, he was also a member of the VFW, Post #8335, of Avoca. An outdoorsman who enjoyed kayaking and hunting, he was a member of the Beards for Better Hunting Club. A workaholic who was always tinkering with something, he'll be forever remembered for his great sense of humor. Edward will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by six children, Dustin Dippre of Tunkhannock, Josh Tippett of Scranton, Emily Dippre of Tunkhannock, Jennifer Allison of Simpson, Jessica Little of Scranton and Veronica Panek of Dunmore; five sisters, Dorothy Ann Gashler of N.J., Carol Drozdick and Ruth Pipitone, both of Mount Cobb, Sandy Dippre of Dunmore and Sharyn Evans of Laceyville; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
An infant brother, Robert, also preceded him in death.
His family would like to thank both the staff of Celtic Hospice and all of their relatives and friends for their collective love and support.
Private arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 517 North Main Street, Old Forge.
